Three Things to Ponder

As we close the current year and get ready for a new year with new beginnings, there are Three Things to Ponder…

1 Corinthians 4:1-5… This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed.
2Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
3I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.
4My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.
5Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

As we close out 2019, the apostle Paul gives us three things to ponder…

  1. Have we been the servant that God wanted us to be? We should be regarded or esteemed as servants- servants of Christ. The true servant or minister is bound to Christ. The best identifier of who you are is the minister of Christ.
  2. Have you been the steward of the things that God has given you? God has given you authority and you need to operate in that authority.
  3. Have you been faithful through this past year; faithful to the things of God?

These three things to ponder can help us better enter into the coming year.

It is good to reflect over the year and ponder if I need to change course on some things- to take away or add?

We need to put more emphasis on what God thinks about us, than what man thinks about us.
