As Salt of the Earth, we are called to season the world with the Word of God…
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
As salt of the earth we are doing God’s will of adding flavor to this world.
Jesus says that you are valuable.
Salt has value in that it serves as a preservative. We need to preserve the Word of God. This is achieved is by praying for people.
Salt adds flavor to food. We should add flavor to life. Others should see us and be affected by us and want what we have- Jesus.
Salt promotes thirst. Our lives should be lived where it creates a thirst in other people’s lives; creating a thirst for God.
Our position as salt of the earth should always be leading people to Jesus Christ. The goal is that He increases as we decrease.
Beware of losing your saltiness. Salt loses it’s flavor by getting diluted. Let us watch that we not get diluted by the things of this earth. We do not lose our saltiness if we are living for God.
Let us maintain our flavor. We are the world’s hope by adding flavor to others. Leading people to Jesus Christ is what we need to strive for.
