Christmas reminds us of the News That Brings Great Joy…
Luke 2:10-11… But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.Â
Sometimes we get in exhaustive situations where we miss out on the great joy of the Christmas season.
There is no better gift than this baby some 2,ooo years ago. This is no ordinary baby: He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He brings great joy to all mankind. This is the gift for each and every person.
When God came in the form of Jesus, He came to bring joy. Christmas season should be filled with this mega joy.
It is a problem if our joy is wrapped around presents. If, however, your joy in the Christmas season is wrapped around Jesus then you are set free. You will know joy and it will be complete in your life.
For many the Christmas season can be a sad time. There are three things that you can take to heart. Christmas joy is…
- seen through promises kept. This occurred when God sent His one and only son. God is saying believe. Christmas is a time of hope that God will make good on His promises.
- because we will always have family. This is what Christmas is all about. As Christians we have our brothers and sisters, even when we are not able to have our actual family.
- knowing that God is for us. He wants to bless you. God made a way to restore that relationship.
We cannot rely on our great joy being dependent on toys and other gifts. THINGS fade, stop, and break. If our joy is wrapped up in those things, then we will lose it. But if it is wrapped up in the things of God, then you will never lose joy. You will then be able to share it- as God has commanded.
Have you made Jesus prominent in your life? Have you accepted Him to lead and guide you in this life?
