Living Water for the Soul- 3 Evangelistic Goals

In seeking the Living Water for the Soul, we please God in spreading the gospel…

John 4:4-10… Now he had to go through Samaria. 5So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon.
7When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8(His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
9The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)
10Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

The best way we can love God is by loving others; bringing the living water that can satiate those that are thirsty.

Our mission is to be a witness; to tell others what we have seen and heard. How much have we experienced Jesus in our lives? Jesus asks us to share the Good News.

We are called to be the living water that brings the good news of Jesus and salvation to those that are lost. Jesus and the gospel is for everyone.

Three things to be a more effective evangelist to address the question who this Jesus was…

  1. Be aware that there are divine appointments in any person’s life. No one is too far from the Lord that they can never know Jesus. We can get caught up on our scheduling and plans, but we need to submit to God’s plan and timing.
  2. Not give in to excuses. You have to push yourself to share the gospel. It is the flesh that holds us up. We need to push through our own limitations.
  3. Barrier between us and those that who need the gospel should never exist. We are all created in God’s image. Barriers can be with race, health, gender. Our passions and love for Christ should override all barriers.

What does it matter if we speak to our neighbors, co-workers, and families if we do not speak to them about salvation.

Be the living water- the hope that people need!
