Our goal during the Christmas season is to Let It Shine- to allow the light of the Lord to be bright with our deeds and speech…
“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.
As we let shine the glory of God through our lives we will be impacting people to know Him. As Jesus tells us in this passage, we are a lamp.
There is a purpose for which we have been born. What is our purpose- to shine. Without God in our life, we can never be completely fulfilled .
The greatest lights that we can see in this season are not the Christmas decorations, but the light that comes from inside each of us. Or at least it should from within us.
It does not matter how we decorate ourselves, or the lifestyles that we live, or the jobs that we have. If we don’t shine we are neglecting the main purpose of what God has wanted us to be.
There is so much darkness in this world that if we hide our witness, people will only continue to stumble in the darkness. We are supposed to shine so that people can be made aware of their path.
Maybe God is allowing you to be in the surrounding darkness, so that you can be that light. Perhaps even the only witness, where God is saying shine brightly.
We cannot control how people will respond to His light through you, your job is to bring His light. People will react as they will.
How bright do you shine? And if you do not shine brightly, why not?
In order to shine, it is as simple as showing love, speaking kind words, offering to pray. God will take that and use it for His glory!
