It is a fact that life is going to be complicated because we as a people are a mess…
In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth and had never walked. 9He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed 10and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk. 11When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!” 12Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker. 13The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them.
Because people have needs, things will be messy and complicated.
God does not send us to places and ministries that are problem-free. God sends people to the hopeless. Sometimes people do not even realize that they need help. The problem is that situations can become so complicated that we question if we are doing the right thing.
We are called to go to people that do not have hope. It is our calling to bring to these people the Word that gives them the hope that is desperately needed.
Being in touch with the Holy Spirit and knowing your Heavenly Father is so important. We have to be sensitive to the things of God.
There are those situations that we may find ourselves in where, in front of several people, we observe that some may tune us out. As well, we will find that there are those that are listening intently. As long as we share the Word of God with faith and respect we are heeding God’s call to our lives.
