We do not want to just wander through life, we want to know that we walk in God’s True Purpose…
Judges 6:11-16… The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. 12When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”
13“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.”
14The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” 15“Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.” 16 The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.”
God has true purpose for your life. He is the answer to all of your needs. Godly purpose makes a kingdom impact. This has eternal fruit beyond this world.
Finding Godly purpose begins with right-thinking about God. We might find ourselves protesting as Gideon did of…
- God’s justice… Why is God causing the hardships? We learn that when we continue to repent and fall back into bad habits, there are consequences.
- God’s power… Where is God’s power? We see that we can confuse God’s will with God’s power. He is all-powerful. God allows us to do things our own way. We are His creation and He loves us, but He gives us the choice.
- God’s faithfulness… Why has God abandoned us? Actually, God is always with us. He loves us although we may not see Him. He promises to be with us.
Finding Godly purpose also begins with right-thinking about ourselves. It is important that we look at ourselves how God looks at us. God has something great for each and every one of us.
When we allow the world and bad things that happen to us to define us, we no longer live life. We merely try to survive it, and that isn’t finding true purpose. Our true purpose is not just surviving, but to make a kingdom impact in this world.
What is it that you do in this life? If you do it unto the Lord, then you will find true purpose in your occupation and outside of it.
When trying to find our true purpose we may think that we need our own great strength. God knows how to transform you. God knows how to take you step by step by step to what He wants you to become.
We can find ourselves asking questions during these times. Who are we? How do we see ourselves? It is important that we know that God sees you and loves you so much.
God says that He created you and made you, and He has something big. Believe and you will see something happen in your life and your family’s life. God has true purpose for you and shapes everything in your life.
Do not succumb to bad thinking about who God is. He is not tormenting you. Let us not forget our role in some of these things. We live in a world of what we have brought to it. God says that He is still with you.
God says that if you turn your life to Him, watch what He will do. God loves you!
